    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved lamp socket for not to have connection failure due to peeling off of soldering in case a large tensile force is applied to a lamp wire connected by soldering to pin terminals of both ends of a U-shaped cold cathode tube. SOLUTION: The lamp socket LS is configured such that a pair of retaining recesses 2 for housing and retaining both ends of the U-shaped cold cathode tube 1 are formed at both ends of the socket, a pair of wire supports 9 supporting two lamp wires 4 connected through soldering 3 to pin terminals 1a of either end of the U-shaped cold cathode tube, and supported from underside are formed further inside than the pair of retaining recesses 2 of both ends of the socket, and a through-hole 8 drawing a connector 6 of a lamp wire tip and the lamp wire 4 to downward of the socket in an up-and-down direction is formed at a socket center between wire supports. By frictional resistance of the lamp wire 4 and the wire support 9, tensile force applied to the soldering connection is made to be attenuated, or not to cause contact failure.
