    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar apparatus for inhibiting an effect of a grating lobe while an electronic scanning system is used. If an azimuth of a target is detected in an azimuth range (a×β1) by utilizing a phase fold (a>1) of (a) periods, the distance between the antenna elements 4a of the transmit antenna 4 and the distance between the antennas among the receive antennas 5a, 5b, 5c are configured so as to establish a relationship indicated by a formula α1=a×β1.     • PURPOSE:To obtain an antenna adjusting its directivity to the arrival direction of a radio wave automatically by providing distributors to two element antennas and by controlling the phase shifting of one distributor by the composite output of the outputs of both the distributors. CONSTITUTION:To output terminals of element antennas A1 and A2 arranged at an interval S, distributors D1 and D2 are connected, and one-side output terminals of the distributors D1 and D2 are connected to a synthesizer C1 through limiters L1 and L2. Then when the azimuth angle is theta, wavelength is lambda, and k=2pi/lambda, the output voltage V1 of the synthesizer C1 is as shown by equation (I) (where A is a value proportional to the gain of the element antenna, electricfield intensity, etc.). The other output of the distributor D1, on the other hand, is passed through a phase shifter phi1 and mixed with the other output of the distributor D2 by a synthesizer C2.     • PURPOSE:To radiate a radio wave precisely in the arrival direction of a receive wave by using two frequencies for a pilot radio wave. CONSTITUTION:Two pilot frequencies f1 and f1+f0 transmitted from a pilot antenna device are received by a reference antenna 5 and a frequency f0 is generated by using a brnaching filter 6a and a mixer 7a and doubled by a reference signal generation part 2. A receive wave from an element antenna A1 is applied to a branching filter 6b through a circulator B1 and a mixer 7b extracts the frequency f0. A signal of frequency 2f0 from the reference signal generation part 2 is applied to a mixer 7c through a line 3 and mixed with the receive wave f0 from the element antenna A1 to extract the frequency component of f0. This frequency component advances in phase in proportional to the error (r) in the arrival distance of the receive wave, and is radiated through an amplifier 8 and a circulator B1, thereby setting the direction of a beam radiated from the whole device to the direction of the arrival wave.
