    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "horizontal-stripe" fuel cell structure which hardly causes the deformation of a support substrate when the support substrate receives external force, and which has high electron conductivity between a fuel electrode and an electrical connection part.SOLUTION: A plurality of power generation element parts A electrically connected in series with one another are arranged at predetermined intervals on a principal surface of a flat plate-like support substrate 10 having a fuel gas channel 11 formed in the inside. A plurality of recesses 12 are formed at predetermined intervals on the principal surface of the support substrate 10. Each recess 12 has a "bottom wall made of a material of the support substrate 10" and "side walls which are closed in a circumferential direction and made of the material of the support substrate 10." A corresponding fuel electrode 20 of the power generation element part is embedded in each recess 12. A second recess having a "bottom wall made of a material of the fuel electrode 20" and "side walls which are closed in a circumferential direction and include a portion made of the material of the support substrate 10 and a portion made of the material of the fuel electrode 20" are formed on each of outer side surfaces of the embedded fuel electrodes 20. A corresponding interconnector 30 is embedded in each of the second recesses.
