    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal infrared solid state sensing device with a reference device which allows a sacrifice layer to remain even having a slit forming a light receiving part without causing the accuracy deterioration of a resist mask pattern, having high drift suppressing accuracy due to the light shielding effect and the heat transfer effect of the reference device; and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A reference device having an insulation film including a thermoelectric transducer therein, with a slit forming a light receiving device opened through to a sacrifice layer, is provided with a film of conductive material which covers a light receiving part and the slit and a protection film thereon. The film of conductive material and the protection film enter the inside of the slit along the side wall of the slit, allowing a cavity to remain inside the slit. Consequently, the residual stress of the insulation film is maintained in a uniform state for the light receiving device and the reference device, without causing the accuracy deterioration of a resist mask pattern due to focus deviation. The light shielding effect on the incident infrared rays and the heat transfer effect for efficient heat removal are thus enhanced, resulting in higher drift suppressing accuracy.
