    • PURPOSE:To prevent a hole portion of electron beams passing through from deformation while in press forming and to obtain a mask body superior in spherical formation by attaching a projection with an easy-cutting portion at least to a portion of a skirt of shadow mask. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask body 14 is constituted from mask portion 2 having a plurality of holes through which electron beams pass and skirt portion 3 which surrounds the mask portion 2, and to one side of the skirt is attached to projections 15 having open holes 16 for hanging and with half-etching portion 17. With this constitution, annealing process is carried out by inserting such bars as of metal (not shown in figure). The annealing is uniformly carried out in this case, since the metal bars, the skirt portion 3 and the portion of holes 1 through which electron beams pass are separated from each other. Thus, quality of the shadow mask body 17 is prevented from degradation in annealing process, the portion of holes electron beams passing through from deformation while in press forming, and the mask body superior in spherical formation is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To accurately keep excellent insulation property of sheets of mask on mechanical basis by mainly forming a plurality of shadow masks with the bending process so that the length of extending line of the edge of skirt of said plurality of shadow masks becomes equal to the external circumference of flat mask before molding. CONSTITUTION:The length of extending line of the edge of skirt 20 becomes equal to the outer most circumference 21 of a flat mask. Namely, the circumference of the main surface of skirt is formed mainly with the bending process by forming the conical protrusions 22, 23 which expands toward the skirt edge 20 from the top on the outer most line 19 of the overhanging process. Thereby, strain which is concentrated to the corner at the time of molding cab be elimnated and excellent insulation property of a plurality of shadow masks can be ensured accurately on the basis of mechanical means.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of mask and facilitate high precision assembling of a plurality of masks by previously forming the cut-away part to an insulating films which are inserted between each of plural masks and overlapped. CONSTITUTION:A first flat mask 31 having the reference holes 30 is placed on a box type level 33 having the reference pins 32 with the pins 32 and holes 30 aligned. Next, an insulating film sheet 36 is placed to the previously half-etched area 35 of the non-effective area where the aperture 34 does not exist. Then, a second flat mask 38 having the same reference holes 37 is placed and finally an upper plate 39 is placed thereon. At this time, the insulating film sheet 36 is provided with the almost triangular cut-away portions toward the inner side at the external circumference thereof. Thereby, deformation of mask can be prevented and a plurality of masks can be assembled with high accuracy.

    • PURPOSE:To highten accuracy in the curved shape of a porous part by forming the shape of the peripheral part so as to form the shape of the surrounding part so that yielding load regarding tention in the peripheral direction along an outer frame of the peripheral part is smaller than the yielding load regarding the tention in the crossing direction orthogonal to the peripheral direction. CONSTITUTION:A material plate 1a before being press formed consists of a porous part 21a having through holes, which electron beams pass through, and a non-porous peripheral part 3a prepared around it. The former is press formed into a porous curved part 21 while the latter is press formed into a skirt part 3 and a non-porous curved part 22. An extended regulating part 30 formed en bloc with the porous part 21a is prepared on the outer frame part of the non-porous peripheral part 21. In a rectangular shadow mask, numbers of regulation parts 30 are prepared on the neibouring part rather than on the core part whereby thick parts 31 and thin parts are alternately provided. Thereby, the thin parts 32 form groove parts as against the thick parts 31 while said groove parts are arranged about in the right-angled direction to the peripheral part.
