    • PURPOSE:To remove restriction on the diameter of a pore referring to the plate thickness of a shadow mask by making pass pores of electron beam in alignment at the respective prescribed positions of 2 plates and lying one of the 2 plates upon the other such that the respective pores of both plates correspond to one another and also by uniting them with an engaging means. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask 1 consists of a polymer of 2 plates 11 and 21, and is constituted of metal plates. One 11 of both plates has a thickness necessary for keeping the strength of the mask 1, and a pore 122 for passing an electron beam is made in the plate 11. The other plate 21 made up of plate material which is thin at such a degree that a pore in a size necessary for operation of a color cathode ray tube can be made with good accuracy, and a pore 22 to pass a beam is made in this plate 21. The side wall of the pore 12 in the plate 11 has a tapered face 14 which inclines toward one face. Moreover, many projections 6 are made on the side of the reduced diameter pore of the pore 12 of the plate 11. The pore 22 of the plate 21 is made up of tapered faces 22 and 25 where the pore diameter is expanded toward the surface and back sides. This plate 21 has a positioning pore 7 to engage with the projection 6. The mask 1 is made such that the projections 6 of both the plates 11 and 21 engage with the pores 7, respectively.

    • PURPOSE:To use a lightweight frame and to prevent the generation of bending and deformation by forming the installing surface of a porous plate to a frame in a surface with at least four projections and hollows the axial direction, and stretching the porous plate on the installing surface. CONSTITUTION:Since a porous plate 2 is almost a perfect plane near the center of the porous plate 2, while it has projections and hollows on the surface installing to the frame 10 at the periphery, the porous plate 2 is stretched on condition that the tensile force in the direction to the extension of the frame 10 in the periphery of the porous plate 2 is larger necessarily than the average tensile force at the center when it is installed to the frame 10. The increase of the tensile force in the direction to the extension of the frame 10 brings some increase also in the square directions, that is, in the radial directions from the center 0, but the tensile force is generated in the radial directions passing the center 0 of the porous plate 2. The average tensile force at the periphery of the porous plate 2 can be increased without increasing too much the tensions acting between A and C, or B and D, for example. In other words, the generation of harmful wrinkles at the periphery can be reduced without increasing the burden to the frame 10 too much.

    • PURPOSE:To precisely compensate a concentration error, by introducing a double balanced mixer D.B.M with 2 transformers and 4 diodes mutually connected in the forward direction. CONSTITUTION:Diodes 210a-210d are connected in the form of a ring, and both ends of a second coil 202a of a transformer 200a at one side are connected to the common junctions of the diodes 210a and 210d and the common junctions of the diodes 210b and 210c, respectively.
