摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mounted current fuse having a structure capable of being produced by an automatic machine and less affected by vibration, impact or the like. SOLUTION: The surface mounted current fuse comprises a case 10 which is constituted by fusion-welding of a pair of insulating case members 11a, 11b and in which the pair of terminal insertion holes 12, 13 are installed at the bottom part thereof, a pair of metal terminals 30 having a loop-shaped top part 31, a pair of first linear parts 32 extending in the same direction from the top part, and a pair of second linear parts 33 which are bent nearly at right angles at respective ends of the pair of the first linear parts and which extend in a direction opposite to each other, and a fuse element assembly 40 formed by spirally winding a fuse wire 42 around a glass fiber bundle 41. A top part of each metal terminal 30 is positioned inside the case, both end parts of the assembly 40 are inserted and held inside the top parts of the metal terminals, respectively, and the fuse wire is electrically joined to the pair of the metal terminals at each top part. SOLUTION: This low-resistance fuse includes a first intermediate insulation layer 26, a second intermediate insulation layer 28, and a free-standing fuse element layer 20 independently formed and fabricated from each of the first and second intermediate insulation layers. The fuse element layer 20 includes a first contact pad 32, a second contact pad 34 and a fusible link 30 extending between the first contact pad and the second contact pad.
