      SOLUTION: A closed motor protective device has a housing formed with a base (10) and a cover (12) received on the base and surrounding a depression (10a) formed in a base. In the cover, a plurality of first wall barriers (122) for closing a first terminal receiving opening and a plurality of second wall barriers (124) for closing a second terminal receiving opening, which have triangular bodies in a sectional view in a longitudinal direction are formed to prevent progression of an arc and ingression of explosive gas into a case. These forms also makes the air supply to the case reduced and weaken the combustion thereby.

      SOLUTION: The protecting device 1 mounted in the electric compressor is provided with a housing 10 made of an insulating material, a protector 20 mounted in the housing 10 and having a thermally-actuated switch inside thereof, a fuse element 30, the connecting terminal 40 electrically connected to an airtight terminal provided on the electric compressor, and a quick terminal 50. A mounting position variable part 11 is formed on an outer periphery of the housing 10 so as to vary a mounting position of the connecting terminal 40. A fitting part 41 fitted onto the mounting position variable part 11 is provided on the connecting terminal 40.

The motor starter can include an electrical circuit containing a triac, current transformer, Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) element, resistor, and a capacitor. A cover 400 and base 200 of the connecting package enclose and firmly secure connected circuit elements without the need of a circuit board or filler material. The device design enables quick testing of the motor starter circuit and circuit elements after being enclosed by the housing.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a starting relay from smoking even if it is energized, by structurizing it such that its broken chip is not caught with a pair of contact springs when a built-in resistor element breaks.
      SOLUTION: In the starting relay where a resistive element 1 with a positive resistance temperature coefficient which is stored in a container 2 consisting of a hard resin of an electric insulator is pressed by contact springs 5 and 6 of power feeders 3 and 4 equipped with conductivity and elasticity thereby catching the resistive element 1 in conductive state, the contact springs 5 and 6 are equipped with barrels, two pieces of arms which are extended from the barrels, and separate pressing parts which are extended from the tip of each arm so as to press the resistive element, and also the pressing parts 5C1 and 5C2 of the contact spring 5 and the pressing parts 6C1 and 6C2 of the contact spring 6 are crossed to each other so that broken chips may not be caught with the contact springs 5 and 6 even if the caught resistive element 1 breaks.
