    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a protection element which equalizes a flux amount even when voids in flux, which causes variations in a flux application amount on a fusible conductor, occurs thereby improving variations in pre-arcing time-current characteristics.SOLUTION: A protection element 10 includes: an insulation substrate 11; a heating body 14; an insulation member 15; two electrodes 12; a heating body internal electrode 16; a fusible conductor 13 that is laminated ranging from the heating body internal electrode 16 to the two electrodes 12 and fuses a current path between the two electrodes 12 when being heated; flux 17 applied onto the fusible conductor 13 so as to overlap with the heating body; and a cover member 1 that covers at least the fusible conductor and is attached to the insulation substrate. The cover member 1 has a cylindrical protruding part 2 that is formed on an inner surface 1a of the cover member 1 facing the heating body 14 so as to contact with the flux 17. On a side wall surface of the cover member 1, a communication hole 3 is opened communicating with the inner surface 1a side of the cover member 1 from the interior of the protruding part 2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ON-OFF switch which is easily miniaturized and allows easy setting of its operation temperature.
      SOLUTION: A contact device 15 comprising fixed conductors 11 and 12 and a movable conductor 13 and a diode 31 connected to the contact device 15 in parallel are connected to each of a plurality of cells of a battery no shown in parallel. When the cell is damaged, thereby becoming into an open state, a current flows through the diode 31 and the Joule heat is transmitted to a shaft 2 made of thermoplastic resin. The shaft 2 melts when its temperature increases to a predetermined temperature, and the movable conductor 13 is pushed by a spring 41 so that it moves downward to contact with the fixed conductors 11 and 12 to close the contact device 15.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive pellet type thermal fuse capable of accelerating a response speed so as to make switching at an operating temperature fast and accurate by using a thermoplastic resin which softens and melts as a thermosensitive pellet.
      SOLUTION: This thermal fuse is equipped with a metallic enclosure 12 to house the thermosensitive pellets 10 made of the thermoplastic resin, a first lead member 14 combined with one end side of the enclosure to form a fist electrode 15 at its tip part, a second lead member 16 fixed to the other end side of the enclosure to form a second electrode on the inner wall surface of the enclosure, and a switching function member including a movable conductor 20 and spring bodies 24, 26 so as to push the thermosensitive pellets 10. In this thermal fuse which switches an electric circuit between the first electrode and the second electrode at a prescribed temperature by softening and melting of the thermosensitive pellet, a pellet lightened, multi-layered, and mixed is used as the thermosensitive pellet equipped with an operation expediting means to accelerate the response speed for switching.
