      SOLUTION: The current limiter is provided with a PTC element and a pair of electrode sandwiching the PTC element. The sandwiching faces of a pair of the electrodes are formed as rough faces having numerous projections and recesses. All the projection parts or a part of them on the rough faces are brought into contact with the PTC element so that they can be connected electrically. An insulator which is dissolved or almost dissolved due to heat generation at a first current limiting operation is made to interpose between one sandwiching face or both faces in a pair of electrodes.

      SOLUTION: In the center part of the movable electrode, a U-shaped groove is formed, and a shaft connected to the U-shaped groove is arranged so that the radius of curvature is smaller than that of the U-shaped groove of the movable electrode, as well as, the width is formed into a small arc shape. According to this, the movable electrode is arranged at the center of one set of the fixed electrodes, and the load is made to be uniformly added to the contact faces of two fixed electrodes. Moreover, by forming the shape of the movable electrode in contact with the fixed electrodes into a curved shape, the contact resistance of the fixed electrode and the movable electrode is further stabilized.
