    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording medium having a protruded part protecting a transparent protective layer, reducing the load on a motor during rotation, and achieving larger disk clamping force. SOLUTION: The optical information recording medium has a signal substrate, a signal recording layer, and a transparent protective layer having the thickness of 10 μ m to 200 μm and disposed over the signal recording layer, and has a center hole having the diameter of 15 mm. Information is recorded/reproduced by irradiation of the signal recording layer with light through the transparent protective layer. The optical information recording medium includes a clamping area in an area between a signal area corresponding to the area where the signal recording layer is formed and the center hole. The transparent protective layer is formed so as to cover the signal area of the substrate, the clamping area, and an area at the inner side thereof. A protruded part is formed by sticking a member different from that of the signal substrate on the surface of the transparent protective layer in an area having the diameter of 17.5 to 22.0 mm interposed between the center hole and the clamping area.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scratch and adhesion of dust onto an information reading surface even when an optical recording medium is used without being housed in a cartridge in the optical recording medium wherein recording and/or reproduction of information signals is performed by irradiating the optical recording medium with a laser beam from a protective layer side. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium is so constituted that an information signal part 2 wherein recording and/or reproduction of information signal can be performed and a light transmission layer 3 wherein light used for recording and/or reproduction of the information signal can be transmitted are successively layered on a substrate 1 having an aperture 1a at a center part. The disk substrate 1 has a protrusion 4 on the light transmission layer 3 side and the protrusion 4 is positioned between the aperture 1a and the light transmission layer 3. Thereby, when the optical recording medium is used without being housed in the cartridge, even if the reading surface side of the optical recording medium is placed on a table and the like, a space can be formed between the reading surface and the table and the like.
