    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for magnetic recording/reproducing, capable of separating reproducing signals from a plurality of recording tracks obtained by a reproducing head into signals for respective recording tracks.
      SOLUTION: During recording, to supply the position information of a reproducing head with respect to a recording track at the time of reproduction, an identification signal having a recording wavelength equal to or more than a minimum recording wavelength and having no interferences between recording tracks is added to a plurality of recording signals to be recorded in a magnetic recording medium. During reproduction, even if signals are reproduced over the plurality of recording tracks of the magnetic recording medium by a reproducing head not corresponding to a recording track width, the position information of the reproducing head is obtained from the identification signal of the plurality of recording tracks, and a reproducing signal is generated for each recording track based on this position information.

    • PURPOSE:To put a reproduction head on a normal track in a short time by using an arithmetic circuit which records circularly four types of pilot signals together with the information signal and multiplies the pilot signals themselves in a reproduction mode. CONSTITUTION:The output of an arithmetic circuit 26 is divided into two parts with a proper ratio of amplitude by a dividing circuit 27, and two types of difference frequency signals are separated and extracted through BPFs 28 and 29 tuning with frequencies M and 3M. These difference frequency signals are applied to both input terminals of a differential amplifier 32 via wave detecting circuits 30 and 31 for detection of the difference of both levels. This detection signal is supplied to a polarity switching circuit 33 to receive the inversion of polarity by a track switching signal 14' and every track. Thus it is possible to obtain a tracking control signal 34 having the polarity corresponding to the tracking shift direction and a level corresponding to the degree of the tracking shift. The signal 34 is used to control a capstan motor or to control a rotary head toward the track width direction or the azimuth direction. Thus it is possible to make a head follow a track.
