    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive composition for forming a volume hologram recording layer, which forms a volume hologram recording layer excellent in humidity resistance and heat stability, suppressing hardening and shrinkage in hologram recording, and having excellent multiple recording characteristics.SOLUTION: A three-dimensional crosslinked polymer matrix precursor material includes the following components (A), (B) and (C) in a ratio in which a functional group of the component (B) having an active proton, and an alicyclic epoxy group in a compound represented by the formula (1) in the component (A) have a molar ratio (the former/the latter) of 0.01-0.3. The photosensitive composition for forming a volume hologram recording layer includes the three-dimensional crosslinked polymer matrix precursor material, a radical polymerizable compound, and a radical polymerization initiator. Component (A): cationic polymerizable compound containing a compound represented by the following formula (1), component (B): compound including a functional group having an active proton, and component (C): thermal acid generator.
