    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve calculation accuracy of a boundary, based on candidate pixels having detected pixels constituting the boundary of a side of a manuscript area included in an image data.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus 10 includes: an image input unit 60 for inputting image data including a manuscript area; a candidate pixel detection unit 61 for detecting the candidate pixels which become pixel candidates constituting the side boundary of the manuscript area; for each side of the manuscript area, a classification unit 63 for classifying the coordinates of the candidate pixels respectively detected at a plurality of parts of the boundary into a plurality of coordinate groups; based on the coordinates belonging to each of the plural coordinate groups, an approximation straight line calculation unit 68 for calculating a plurality of approximation straight lines of the boundary; among the plural approximation straight lines, a tentative straight line determination unit 69 for determining a tentative straight line of the side boundary, based on an approximation straight line having a largest number of candidate pixels located within the range of a predetermined distance from the approximation straight line; and based on the tentative straight line, an image cutout unit 67 for cutting out an image in the manuscript area.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately construct a plurality of network structures corresponding to a plurality of constructs from medical image data.SOLUTION: A likelihood of a cross segment representing a probability that each segment is a cross segment is calculated based on a cross segment characteristic condition defining a characteristic that a portion corresponding to an intermingled portion of a construct is present as a cross segment, and that at least two pairs of segments connectable to form a straight line with each other are present in the neighborhood of the cross segment, in the plurality of segments. A likelihood of a straight line representing a probability that each segment is connected, in a straight line, to another segment is calculated based on a straight line connection condition defining a characteristic that each segment is connected to form a straight line to another segment in the neighborhood of each segment. Strength of connection between the respective segments is set using the likelihood of a cross segment and the likelihood of a straight line, and a plurality of networks are constructed by connecting the respective segments based on the connection strength.
