摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for conducting gap stack-up analysis on interacting machine parts in order to generally calculate the tolerances of the machine parts, or more specifically, the nominal size and the tolerance of a gap.
SOLUTION: A method and a device for conducting gap stack-up analysis on a machine gap are provided. The gap is defined by the opposing surfaces of two machine parts. A vector loop starts on one of the opposing surfaces, traverses the machine parts affecting the gap size, and ends on the other of the opposing surfaces. The size and tolerance related to each of the parts within the vector loop are coupled to provide the gap size and gap tolerance. In one embodiment, gap stack-up is determined by a computer program product executed by a computer processor.
