    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control device capable of controlling either of a DC motor and a stepping motor by control signals based on the same command architecture.SOLUTION: A motor control device 1 comprises: a communication unit 11 for receiving a control command including a motor type identification signal representing the type of a motor 2 to be controlled and a signal specifying the target amount of rotation and the target speed of revolution of the motor 2; and a control unit 13 which, if the motor 2 to be controlled is found to be a DC motor by referring to the motor type identification signal, has a drive signal outputted by a DC motor drive signal generation unit 14 so as to cause the motor 2 to stop rotating just when the total amount of rotation of the motor 2 has reached the target amount of rotation as calculated by the number of times a detection signal was received from a rotation angle sensor 4, the detection signal being received each time the motor 2 has rotated by a prescribed angle of rotation, the control unit 13 having, if the motor 2 to be controlled is found to be a stepping motor, a drive signal outputted by a stepping motor drive signal generation unit 15 so as to cause the motor 2 to rotate by a number of steps equivalent to the target amount of rotation.
