    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of increasing the number of sheets per unit time for reversing the front surface and back surface after an image forming process even when one side printing and both sides printing are mixed. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 30 carries out the image forming process to a sheet. A sheet ejection tray 38 stores the sheet on which an image is formed. A transporting path 41 reaches the sheet ejection tray 38 via an image forming section 30. The transporting path 41 is branched from the transporting path 41 between the image forming section 30 and the sheet ejection tray 38 and is joined to the transporting path 41 before reaching the image forming section 30 in the transporting path 41. A transporting path 43 is branched from the transporting path 41 between the image forming section 30 and the sheet ejection tray 38 and reverses the front surface and the back surface of the sheet to which both sides printing is carried out. The transporting paths 46 and 47 are branched from the transporting path 41 between the image forming section 30 and the sheet ejection tray 38 and reverse the front surface and the back surface of the sheet to which one side printing is carried out.     • PURPOSE:To automatically effect the arrangement of page orders, the both side copying operations and the multiplex copying operations of a both side copier by arranged a sheet reversing device at the back of fixing means so that the sheet is guided by change-over means selectively into either a passage to be subjected to the reversing operation of a passage not to be subjected to the same. CONSTITUTION:The sheet, which has been transferred on a phtosensitive drum and fixed by a paired fixing roller 15, reaches the reversed roller of a sheet reversing device 17 through a paired receiving roller 16. The reversing roller train is composed of a pre-reverse roller 18, a main reverse roller 19 and a post-reverse roller 20. A first change-over guide plate 24, which is provided in the reversing device 17, has its position made so changeable that the sheet entering the reversing roller train is guided into a reversing guide portion 21 and reversed or blocked from running into the reversing guide portion. Thus, the sheet runs out of the reversing roller train while being left irreversed. A second change-over guide plate 25 is aranged in the sheet lead-out passage of the device 17 and has its position so changed that the sheet is guided into a conveyor belt device 29 or that the sheet is discarged onto a paper discharge tray 28 through the sheet feeding roller 26 and the discharge roller 27.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a rear end of a recording paper sheet from being brought into contact with or hooked on a rib or the like in a path of the recording paper sheet in a switch-back conveying mode. SOLUTION: The first position H1 is a position at which a guide plate 51 is retracted from a discharging path of a recording paper to a paper discharge tray 37, and the guide plate 51 is prevented from inhibiting the discharge of the recording paper sheet. Further, the second position H2 is a position at which the fore end side of the recording paper sheet held between paper discharge rollers 36 can be received on the guide plate 51. Thus, in the switch-back conveying mode, the fore end side of the recording paper sheet held between the paper discharge rollers 36 is received on the guide plate 51, and the fore end side of the recording paper sheet is prevented from being hanged. Therefore, a rear end side of the recording paper sheet is not lifted upwardly, and even when the recording paper sheet is conveyed in the opposing direction B in the switch-back conveying mode, the rear end of the recording paper sheet is not hooked on a rib or the like of a forward conveying path 33 and a bypassing path 34.
