    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a gap between two adjacent segment electrodes from being visually recognized as a dark area even when a polymer dispersed liquid crystal is used for a liquid crystal layer. SOLUTION: A display device includes: a liquid crystal layer 28 which is formed of a polymer dispersed liquid crystal held between a transparent first substrate 21 and a transparent second substrate 23; a transparent character electrode 22a which is formed on a first substrate so that a predetermined area becomes a positive pattern with respect to predetermined display information and a transparent non-character electrode 22b which is formed on the first substrate so that a predetermined area becomes a negative pattern with respect to predetermined display information, wherein the transparent character electrode and the transparent non-character electrode are formed as the same layer; a transparent common electrode 24 formed on a second substrate so as to face the transparent character electrode 22a and transparent non-character electrode 22b; and a transparent auxiliary electrode 29a formed on the first substrate along a gap between the character electrode and the non-character electrode.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of a transreflective type including a diffusion reflection electrode adapted to minute display. SOLUTION: The material prepared by mixing spherical particles PTC of an acrylic denaturation polystyrene of a specific gravity 1.00, a refractive index 1.50, and a particle diameter 1.6 μm into an organic resin film material PET containing an NQD as a sensitizing agent in an acrylic resin of a specific gravity 1.05 and a refractive index 1.50 and adjusting the mixture to a weight ratio 3:1, a total solid content 30% and a viscosity 20 mPa s is applied on an electrode and is dried. The material is exposed by using an exposure mask having an aperture for half exposure consisting of a number of slits in a portion to be the lower layer of the diffusion reflection electrode and is cured. Aluminum is sputtered thereon and is subjected to a photolithographic etching processing to form a diffusion reflection electrode MT in a reflection region. The reflection region of the diffusion reflection electrode MT has a surface rugged shape profiling the surface rugged shape by the spherical particles PTC mixed into the organic insulating film PF of the lower layer.
