    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable connection closure which can increase esthetic appeal.SOLUTION: An optical cable connection closure 1 is housed within trunk optical cables 5A to 5D. The optical cable connection closure 1 is suspended from a messenger wire 3, and is provided with a closure body 10 that is rigid enough to support the trunk optical cables 5A to 5D, branching optical cables 7A to 7D, and optical connectors 8A to 8D. The closure body 10 has a first layer 14 for housing the trunk optical cables 5A to 5D, a second layer 15 for housing the second optical cables 5s, and a third layer 28 for housing the optical connectors 8A to 8D. The first through third layers 14, 15, 28 are layered in that order in the suspension direction (Z-direction) and the perpendicular direction (Y-direction), and at least portions thereof overlap each other as seen from the perpendicular direction (Y-direction).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drop cable which has functions of reference of a coated optical fiber and detection of failure without necessitating the connection of optical fibers, and transforms the optical fiber into an indoor cable having a common line characteristic.
      SOLUTION: The optical fiber drop cable is provided with: an inner layer cable 11, comprising at least one optical fiber 3, a pair of tensile strength bodies 5 arranged on the both sides of the optical fiber 3 on a straight line which passes through the center of the optical fiber 3 parallel to one of two directions orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber 3, and an inner layer covering 7 formed of a non-black resin having a friction coefficient of 0.10 to 0.40 and durometer hardness (HDD) of 55 to 70 with which the circumferences of the optical fiber 3 and the tensile strength bodies 5 are covered integrally; and an outer layer covering 13 formed of a resin having a friction coefficient of 0.40 to 2.00 and a durometer hardness (HDD) of 36 to 53 with which the outer circumference of the inner layer covering 7 is covered. The optical fiber drop cable has a dual layer structure in which the inner layer covering 7 and the outer layer covering 13 are not fused to each other, but can be separated from each other, while the inner layer cable 11 functions as an indoor cable. The surfaces of the inner layer and the outer layer coverings 7, 13 are notched.
