    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable that can be installed by an operation comparable to that of a regular self-support type optical cable and that facilitates handling of a winding part curling-worked for extra length treatment, as well as, processing during the installation, and to provide an installation method of the same. SOLUTION: The optical cable 11, 11' includes its body 12, 12' for which a coated optical fiber is covered with a jacket and a catenary part 13 which is integrally connected to the body at an easily separable neck part. On one side of the cable, the body 12, 12' and the catenary part 13 are separated. The separated body part 12, 12' is provided with a winding part 17, which is wound/held with a diameter equal to or larger than the allowable bending radius of the optical fiber and comprises a plurality of winding turns, and the body part is wound/held on the suspended part 13.
