    • PURPOSE:To shorten the time for determining the leaking position of sodium to a large extent, by collecting a plurality of sampling pipes to a header through valves, normally opening the valves, and sequentially switching the valves by a sequence device at the time of leaking. CONSTITUTION:Gas between a pipe 1 containing sodium and a temperature keeping material 2 is introduced to a pipe collecting part 21 through a sampling piping 3 and valves V1-Vn. The gas is further introduced into a sodium leakage detector 5 and a differential filter 6. All the valves V1-Vn are normally opened, and the presence or absence of leakage is monitored. When the leakage occurs, the valves are closed by a sequence control circuit 24. Then, the valves are sequentially switched one by one, and the leaking valve is determined. Since the sampling pipes are not switched like a conventional way, the waiting time is not required, and the leakage detecting time and the leaking position determining time can be shortened to the large extent.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a highly reliable leakage detection by arranging a three-way changeover valve and a checkline on a sampling piping to reduce the number of detectors. CONSTITUTION:A gas sampled from a sampling piping 5 at the lowest stage is checked for the presence of Na with an Na leakage detector 19 via a changeover valve 12, a checkline piping 13 and a valve 18. Subsequently, it is returned to near an Na piping 1 via a pressure measuring device 25, a flow controller 20, a circulation pump 9 and a piping 10. A large pressure loss as measured with the pressure measuring device 25 is considered to indicate possible clogging of the piping 5 and the clogging is eliminated by purging gas from a gas supply source 17. The calibration of Na leakage detectors 7 and 19 is done by use of a gas from a calibration gas source 16. Gas within other sampling pipings is fed into the detector 19 via a header introduction tube 5', a header 11 and a detection introduction tube 22 with a switch of the changeover valve 12 to check the presence of Na. Checking is done by sequentially changing the piping 5 with a changeover valve 12 thereby enabling a highly reliable leakage detection.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reliable leakage detection system by arranging a pressure measuring device and a flow controller on the rear flow side of a liquid metal leakage detector to reduce the absolute number of detectors. CONSTITUTION:A gas sampled from partial spaces 4 between an Na piping 1 and a heat insulating material 2 through a sampling piping 5 is collected to a header 11 through a valve 6 and introduced to a liquid metal leakage detector 7 via a joining piping 12 and a valve 13 to check the existence of Na. Then, the gas is returned to near the piping 1 from a piping 10 passing through a pressure measuring device 16, a flow controller 8 and a circulation pump 9. Variations in the pressure measuring device 16 on the downstream side of the detector 7 allows the detection of clogging of a piping 5 due to mist, the heat insulation material and the like. When any variation in the measuring device 16 takes place, an affected piping can be identified by switching the valve 6 of the piping 5. The clogging can be removed by supplying a gas to the piping 5 from a supply tank 14. The correction of the detector 7 can be done by a gas from a correction supply tank 15 thereby improving the reliability of the leakage detection.
