    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable pressurized liquid at an inlet to be released at a liquid pressure that is lower than the conventional pressure when the liquid pressure at the inlet has increased sharply, and to prevent the occurrence of a large surge pressure at the inlet due to the initial increase of the liquid pressure at the inlet from that low-liquid-pressure state.SOLUTION: A relief valve R1 adjusts the relief pressure by means of a plunger 3, which is pressed forward by an elastic member and blocks off an outlet 1a and an inlet 2a, resisting the elastic force of the elastic member and retracting in conjunction with a rise in the pressure at the inlet 2a so as to connect the inlet 2a and the outlet 1a, and by means of a piston 4, which presses the rear end of the elastic member forward, advancing in conjunction with a rise in the pressure at the inlet 1a and thereby compressing the elastic member. The elastic member is equipped with a first elastic member 5a and a second elastic member 5b which are arranged in series, with the second elastic member 5b being formed with a lower elastic constant than the first elastic member 5a.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regulator valve 1 capable of preventing a piston 19 from being excessively lifted by increasing the braking capacity of the piston 19 without impairing responsiveness.
      SOLUTION: This regulator valve 1 sets the gradient of an opening area characteristic obtained by a time when the piston 19 fully opens a relief hole 23 when the piston 19 moves in a valve opening direction so that it is equal to the same value as in a conventional regulator valve, and after the piston 19 fully opens the relief hole 23, sets the gradient of the opening area characteristic so that it is larger than that in the conventional regulator valve. Since the braking capacity of the piston 19 by the damper effect of a fuel in a damper chamber 25 can be suppressed by a time when the piston 19 fully opens the relief valve when the piston 19 moves in the valve opening direction, the responsiveness of the regulator valve 1 can be secured, and after the piston 19 fully opens the relief valve 23, the piston 19 can be prevented from being excessively lifted since the braking capacity of the piston 19 by the damper effect is increased.
