    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the entry of dirt into a sliding body and also prevent the leakage of oil from the inside of the sliding body by seal members.
      SOLUTION: This sliding device comprises a shaft 1, the sliding body 2, and rolling elements 3 installed between the shaft 1 and the sliding body 2. Lubricating oil is held in the sliding body 2, and the seal members 4a and 4b are arranged parallel with each other at the end of the sliding mechanism in the sliding direction. The lip parts 5a and 5b of the seal members 4a and 4b in contact with the shaft 1 are formed to tend to be curved when a force acts thereon from one side in the sliding direction and hard to be curved when the force acts thereon from the other side. The device comprises the lip part 5a as the outer seal member 4a which, when a force acts thereon from the outside, tends to bent inward and, when the force acts thereon from the inside, hard to be bent outward and the lip part 5b as the inner seal member 4b which, when the force acts thereon from the inside, tends to be curved outward and, when the force acts thereon from the outside, hard to be curved inward.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw having excellent durability by suppressing a grain boundary oxidized layer occurring during a heat treatment and a manufacturing method of the same. SOLUTION: A nut 1 comprises a case hardening steel. The manufacturing method of the ball screw includes a process L1 for opening the predetermined inner peripheral surface at the center of a raw material by drilling, a process L2 for finishing the outer peripheral surface and the inner peripheral surface of the raw material with a cutting tool, a process L3 for point machining a ball running groove with a general cutting tool, a process L4 for vacuum carburizing and quenching the machined workpiece, and thereafter, a process L5 for applying a shot blast treatment on the ball running groove. Thereby, compared with normal gas carburization, a surface abnormal composition of the grain boundary oxidized layer and a softened layer are prevented from occurring on an outer layer, fatigue resistance and wear resistance are improved, and because a process for improving the surface roughness by shot peening after a heat treatment or adding compression residual stress is not required, quality is stabilized and the total cost can be reduced.
