    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel which prevents the occurrence of fretting wear in a gear, and prevents bearing backlash by firmly fixing an inner ring member to a hub ring.SOLUTION: A gear 9 is integrally formed at the outer circumference of an end of the inner ring member 5, and a serration 8b engaged with a serration 4c of a hub ring 4 is formed in the end of a stem 8. A predetermined hardened layer 13 with surface hardness in a range of 58 to 64 HRC is formed by high frequency induction hardening from the gear 9 to the stem 8 via a shoulder 7. In a state that the stem 8 of the inner ring member 5 is pressed and inserted into the hub ring 4 via serrations 4c and 8b, and the shoulder 7 of the inner ring member 5 is made to abut against the end face of a small diameter stepped section 4b, the end of the stem 8 is plastically deformed outward in a radial direction, and caulked to an end face 4e positioned in the pilot section 4d of the hub ring 4. By a caulking section 14, the hub ring 4 and the inner ring member 5 are integrally plastically connected.
