PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce thermal effect from the turbine wheel side to a rolling bearing for supporting a turbine shaft and to suppress vibration of the turbine shaft, in a turbocharger. SOLUTION: A rolling bearing device 32 is equipped with a bearing housing 61 supported on a casing 40 of the turbocharger, and a pair of rolling bearings 10a, 10b in an axial direction Z which are mounted within the bearing housing 61 and rotatably support a turbine shaft 41. A central position Y3 in the axial direction between the pair of rolling bearings 10a, 10b and a central position Y2 in the axial direction of the bearing housing 61 are offset from each other in the axial direction. Each of the rolling bearings 10a, 10b has an inner ring 1, an outer ring 3, an intermediate ring 2 interposed between the inner and outer rings, and a plurality of rolling elements 4, 5 interposed between the inner ring 1 and the intermediate ring 2 and between the intermediate ring 2 and the outer ring 3. The intermediate ring 2 has a damper function for reducing the vibration generated by rotation with very slight displacement or very slight elastic deformation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
