    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump for reducing the noises of an impeller while sufficiently suppressing cyclic pressure rise of fuel with the rotation of the impeller.
      SOLUTION: The fuel pump comprises the impeller and a casing for rotatably storing the impeller. a recess group is formed in both sides of the impeller in a peripherally repetitive manner. In the inner face of the casing on the side of a fuel suction face, a fuel suction side groove is formed extending from the upstream end to the downstream end of a region opposed to the recess group of the impeller. In the inner face of the casing 14 on the side of a fuel discharge face, a fuel discharge side groove 24 is formed extending from the upstream end to the downstream end of the region opposed to the recess group of the impeller. An opening portion 27e of the fuel discharge side groove 24 to a fuel discharge flow path is formed in the shape of extending in the rotating direction of the impeller in a range from a position corresponding to the approximate middle position in the radial direction of the recess group of the impeller to a position corresponding to the approximate outer peripheral edge of the recess group. The opening portion 27e is formed extending in the rotating direction of the impeller beyond a position 29b where an inner peripheral edge 29 of the fuel discharge side groove 24 is connected to the opening portion 27e.
