    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress occurrence of a burr at the time of start in friction stir welding.SOLUTION: When a pin 12 is inserted into a welding start point P1 while rotating a friction stir welding tool 10, a large amount of burrs β occur in an annular region R around a rotation rod 11. To cope with that, after the rotating pin 12 is inserted into the welding start point P1, while rotating the friction stir welding tool 10, it is advanced to an advancing point P4 and then it is shifted along an annular route r. By employing this action, the burrs β that occur by a large amount at the time when the pin 12 is inserted into the welding start point P1 disappear. Thus, occurrence of the burrs β is suppressed as a whole.
