    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an initial discharge generating section as an ignition part of a PPT which can stabilize the induction of and improve the reliability of initial discharge and main discharge which are repeatedly performed in a short period of time as needed for the purpose of stable operation over a long period from the moment when the PPT is needed to the time of discard because of duty termination of a satellite without warming-up of the PPT. SOLUTION: In the ignition part of the pulsed plasma thruster, a graphite application region 8 where graphite is applied is formed on one end face of an insulating member 7 between an igniter electrode 6 and a cathode 1 of a main electrode, or on one end faces of the insulating member 7 and the igniter electrode 6 which are on the same plane.
