    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength cold rolled steel sheet whose tensile strength is ≥590 MPa, and which has excellent formability, and also has excellent corrosion resistance after coating even in severe environments such as a salt warm water test and a composite corrosion cycle test, and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The high-strength cold rolled steel sheet has a composition comprising, by mass, 0.05 to 0.25% C, 0.8 to 3.0% Si, 0.5 to 3.0% Mn, ≤0.05% P, ≤0.01% S and ≤0.06% Al, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and has a structure comprising, by volume, ≥30% ferrite, ≥2% retained austenite, bainite and/or martensite of 3 to 50% in total, and in which the Si content Cs(Si) in the surface of the steel sheet defined by the following formula is ≤2.5%, and an S compound in which the Si content is 0.1 to 100 mg/m 2 is present in the surface of the steel sheet: Cs(Si)=Cb(Si)×[Rs(Si/Fe)/Rb(Si/Fe)]; wherein, Cb(Si) is the Si content in the steel; Rs(Si/Fe) is a GDS (Glow Discharge Spectroscopy) count integrated value ratio between Si and Fe from the surface to a depth of 50 nm; and Rb(Si/Fe) is a GDS count ratio between Si and Fe in the steel.     • PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of gold dust completely by subjecting a hot-rolled ferritic stainless steel plate to desmutting in a high-contg. aq. soln. of nitric acid in the specified temp. range after pickling with sulfuric acid. CONSTITUTION:A hot-rolled ferritic stainless plate is subjected to conventional picking with sulfuric acid. Succeedingly the plate is dipped in a 25-80 deg.C aq. soln. of nitric acid contg. 400g/l of nitric acid to undergo desmutting. By this treatment, the generation of gold dust caused by intergranular corrosion pits on the surface of the ferritic stainless steel which is cold-rolled and bright- annealed to form a thin plate can be prevented completely.
