    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To leach a copper and a gold in copper sulfide ore at high leaching ratio only by leaching the copper sulfide ore with chloride bath and using only the air without using the special oxidizing agent. SOLUTION: The method for recovering various metals from the ore comprises: (1) a copper leaching process (CL) where the raw material is charged into the first oxidizing water solution containing cupric chloride, ferric chloride, 7g/L of hydrochloric acid, and sodium-bromide to obtain the leaching solution containing monovalent copper-ion and bivalent copper-ion; (2) a solid/liquid separating process where the separation of the solid and the liquid is performed; (3) an air-oxidizing process (OX) where the air is injected into the solution after separating the solid and the liquid, and the cuprous ion is oxidized into the cupric ion and the iron leached from the raw material in the (1) process is oxidized and simultaneously, impurities extracted from the raw material with the (2) process, are precipitated; (4) a copper-extracting process (CEX) where: after the (3) process, the copper is recovered from the solution; and (5) a gold-recovering process (AL) where the residue separated with the (2) process, is added into the leaching solution with the same way as the (1) process to obtain the gold. In the (1) to (5) processes, the blowing of the air is performed under condition of lower than the atmospheric pressure and the temperature below the boiling point. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering a platinum group metal from waste by which treatment of waste containing, as impurity, e.g. a semimetal, such as C and Si, so far difficult to deal with by conventional methods can be made possible. SOLUTION: This method for recovering a platinum group metal from waste containing a platinum group metal such as iridium comprises the following step: a step where the platinum group metal contained in the waste is allowed to react with chlorine in a molten salt composed of sodium chloride or in a molten salt composed of sodium chloride and potassium chloride to form an easily water soluble platinum group metal chloride and then the molten salt after the reaction is mixed with water to undergo solid-liquid separation to obtain an aqueous solution of the platinum group metal. As to the composition of the molten salt, it is desirable that the molten salt consists of sodium chloride and potassium chloride and contains ≥50 mol% sodium chloride; it is more desirable that the molten salt consists of 75 to 90 mol% sodium chloride and 10 to 25 mol% potassium chloride.
