    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a biodiesel fuel that can use the whole of fats and oils having an acid number of 20 or less as a raw material, has less burden on the environment and does not need the waste water treatment, and can meet a value specified in the biodiesel fuel quality standard. SOLUTION: The process for producing a biodiesel fuel comprises a step of distilling off moisture, an odor substance, a free fatty acid and the like by using fats and oils having an acid number of 20 or less as a raw material and heating the raw material oil under reduced pressure, a step of adsorbing and removing the residual free fatty acid and acidic substance by bringing the raw material oil into contact with a hydrophilic adsorbent, a step of carrying out a transesterification reaction in the presence of a potassium-based alkali catalyst and a step of purifying a light liquid component of the reaction product resulting from the transesterification reaction in a non-aqueous system.
