    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolyetherimide composition having a high glass transition temperature and remarkable ductility. SOLUTION: The copolyetherimide having an Mw of ≥40,000 and containing an isomeric bis(phthalimide) structure unit having a relatively narrow range of isomer ratio has a Tg of ≥240°C and a remarkable notched Izod impact strength. The copolyetherimide contains the structure units of formulas I, II and III, the ratio of the structure unit derived from 4,4'-biphenol is about 55 to about 85 mol% based on the entire bisphenolic structure units in the copolyetherimide composition, the ratio of the structure unit derived from bisphenol A is about 45 to about 15 mol% based on the entire bisphenolic structure units in the copolyetherimide composition, and the total amount of the structure units derived from bisphenol A or 4,4'-biphenol is ≥95 mol% based on the entire bisphenolic structure units in the copolyetherimide composition.
