    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rescue ship capable of extremely quickly putting a disabled vessel of becoming the cause of a serious pollution phenomenon or the outflow of oil or a similar danger such as a chemical and biological danger, in a safe state.
      SOLUTION: This invention relates to the rescue ship 10 having a hull for defining a slender reservoir 12 having the length of at least 150 m, desirably, at least 250 m and a width of at least 30 m, desirably, at least 45 m. The ship has a ballast device capable of changing draft of the ship by at least 15 m, desirably, by at least 20 m. The hull is composed of two lateral hulls 14 capable of adjusting ballast and surrounding the reservoir 12, and the stern has a substantially sealed door 18 capable of closing a rear part of the reservoir 12. It also has a maneuvering means for adding propulsion in one direction of forming a right angle to at least the longitudinal directional axis of the ship.

    • PURPOSE:When towing a horizontal annular structure having lower section wider than the upper section, to shorten the draft while to improve the stability and to reduce the underwater resistance by covering the upper and lower sections of the opening of the annular structure with a curtain to produce a space for enclosing air. CONSTITUTION:In order to tow a horizontal annular structure 1 where the lower section has the wider vertical cross-section than the upper section, such as a gravity-type concrete foundation, an engine compressor, air bottle, control valve, etc. are arranged at proper position of the structure 1 while a pressure-resistant curtain 7 and non pressure-resistant curtain 8 are applied over the opening 2 of the structure 1 then the pressurized air is enclosed in the space 9 formed by the opening 2, curtains 7, 8 and the water face 11 of said curtain 8. Thereafter the engine compressor and the control valve are controlled automatically to maintain the pressure in the space 9 at a predetermined level. Consequently the draft 5' can be shortened while the water line area can be increased.
