    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of vibration of a valve mechanism and noise by transmitting sufficient reaction force from a piston of a master cylinder to the valve mechanism at an initial stage of brake operation even when a temperature is high, by reducing a communication area of a port communicated with a reservoir and opened to a cylinder and the cylinder. SOLUTION: When the temperature is high, a stop position of the piston of the master cylinder restricted with retreating by an output member when a valve piston is positioned at a non-operation position is forwardly displaced by a stop position displacement means, and the communication area of the port communicated with the reservoir and opened to the cylinder and the piston is reduced. When the temperature is low, the stop position of the piston is not forwardly displaced when the valve piston is positioned at the non-operation position, and the communication area of the port and the cylinder is widely maintained.     • PURPOSE:To make a diaphragm follow up securely to the movement of a booster piston, by a method wherein an oblong form fitting groove surrounding two tie rods is provided in a back face of a booster piston, and an inside peripheral bead of a diaphragm is fitted into the fitting groove. CONSTITUTION:The back face of the booster piston 2 is provided with the oblong form fitting groove 5 surrounding the two tie rods 11. The inside peripheral bead 4a of the diaphragm 4 which is also oblong in shape is fitted into the groove 5. The groove 5 and the bead 4a are provided with two pairs of notch-and-projection engaging parts 34, 34', which are constituted of notches 35 provided in the rear-side wall of the groove 5 and projections 36 provided on the rear face of the bead 4a so as to be fitted into the notches 35. Accordingly, since the reduction of the flexible range of the diaphragm by the inside peripheral baad surrounding the tie rods is minimized, the diaphragm can securely follow up to the movement of the booster piston.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the degree of straightness of an output rod and a power piston from being reduced, by a method wherein a head of an output rod is provided with a flange so that the flange can be brought into contact with the circumferential edge of an opening of a stepped hole formed in a central hub for a power piston. CONSTITUTION:The central hub 25 (made of a synthetic resin) for the power piston 24 is provided with a stepped hole 26, into which the head 28 of an output rod 27 is slidably fitted. A rubber reaction force member 29 is provided between a stepped part 29a of the hole 26 and the head 28. The flange 43 is provided at an end part of the head 28, and is maintained in such a condition as to leave a gap delta between it and the hub 25 when the booster is not operated. The gap delta is set to be as small as possible in such a range as not to hinder the transmission of an axial force between the hub 25, an air seat 30 and the output rod 27 through the member 29. When the booster is operated, the gap is eliminated so that the flange 43 comes into contact with the hub 25.
