    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus in which secure solid-liquid separation is carried out even if a solid component is fine and has a hardly entwined shape such as honing sludge, complicated maintenance such as filter replacement is not required, and most suitable pressurizing is carried out without causing a breach of the filter.
      SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a mold 1 forming an internal diameter face into a cylindrical face shape, a gate 2 switchably closing the one end opening of this mold 1, and a pressure rod 3 slidably fitted in the mold 1 and pressing a slurry material S in the mold 1 to the gate 2 side to compress it. A pressure device 14 which moves this pressure rod 3 forward and backward, and its pressure control device 33 are provided. The tip end face of the pressure rod 3 and the internal face of the gate 2 have the arrangement of fibrous and paper filters 4 and 5 to compress them. The pressure control device 33 controls pressure such that the pressure applied to the slurry material in the mold becomes less than a predetermined pressure.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily solidifying grinder swarf sludge which is hard to become solid, by mixing a binder containing a cellulosic fiber which is easily available at a low cost, is effective with a small quantity, is not an environmental burden, is flammable without generating harmful gas, and does not solidify itself due to mixing, and to provide a solidified material.
      SOLUTION: In the invented method for producing a solidified material B by squeezing the grinder swarf sludge, the binder mainly comprising the cellulosic fiber is mixed into the grinder swarf sludge. It is preferable that the cellulosic fiber is a natural cellulosic fiber made of wood. The grinder swarf sludge comes from a grinding line for quenched parts and contains an oily coolant. The sludge is concentrated and then is squeezed for solidification, with the binder of the cellulosic fiber mixed, by advancing a piston 22 in a cylindrical mold 21.
