    • PURPOSE:To form a projected stopper on the periphery of a straw by supplying a locally heated and pressurized gas into a molding machine. CONSTITUTION:A straw mold 3 is kept opened at the position A under a supply hopper 13. A select gear 14 is turned synchronously with a rotary board 2, and straws 5 are supplied one by one into the straw housing hole 4 of a straw mold 3. When the board 2 is turned to the direction of arrow 16, the mold 3 becomes closed, turned through a given angle, and then stopped at the position B. Hot air is then supplied from a hot air nozzle 9 to the periphery of the straws 5 to heat them and discharged from an exhaust path. After the mold 3 is turned through a given angle and then stopped at the position C, one end of the housing hole 4 is closed, and the heated portion of the peripheral walls of the straws 5 by hot air from the pressure nozzle 10 positioned on the other end is molded into a shape along the recessed groove to form an annular collar. When the mold 3 is turned through a given angle and stopped at the position D, the annular collar is cooled and hardened by cold air from a cold air nozzle.

    • PURPOSE:To enable to manufacture easily the titled straw without increasing the number of pieces of parts, by forming a stopper protrusion on the outside of the straw by heating and pressing the same partially, in manufacture of a straw with the stopper protrusion for a packed drink. CONSTITUTION:A continuous length straw 3 moving in the direction of an arrow 13 by a draw-off roll is made into a slightly flat ellipse state by passing through guide grooves 5 of pressing rollers 4, 4a which are being formed slightly smaller than the straw 3. As pressing protrusions 6, 6a are provided on both sides of the guide grooves 5, hereupon, the outside of the straw 3 is pressed partially by the pressing protrusions 6, 6a which are being heated to the extent of the temperature of 120-130 deg.C by a heater at every predetermined interval and stopper protrusions 14 are formed. The continuous length straw 3 whereon the stopper protrusions 14 are formed is cut off at every predetermined length and made into a straw 3P which is of a predetermined length and provided with the stopper protrusions. In addition to the above, the circumference of the pressing rolls 4, 4a are made into two times as long as of the straw 3P and two or the appropriate number of pieces of pressing protrusions are provided.

    • PURPOSE:To form a projected stopper on the periphery of a straw by inserting a heating mold into the hollow of the straw. CONSTITUTION:When a rotary shaft 1 is turned to the direction of arrow 29, a molding drum 2 and a rotary board 14 are turned in the direction of arrow 30. When a select gear 25 is turned in the direction of arrow 31, straws 16 in a hopper 24 are supplied and housed one by one into a straw housing groove 3, attracted to the groove bottom by the force of a vacuum tube 11, and moved to the direction of arrow 30. As the board 14 is turned, a molding bar 13 is also moved with equal speeds to the same direction. Since the basal end of the bar 13 is contacted with the segment cam 19, the tip of the bar 13 gradually comes near the opening end of the groove 3 and is inserted into the hollow of the straw 16. The bar 13 is then heated by a heater 20 to expand the peripheral wall of one end of the straw 16 by thermal deformation due to its larger diameter than the inside diameter of the straw 16 to form a projected stopper. When the drum 2 and the board 14 are further turned, the bar 13 is pulled out of the straw 16 by the action of a spring 18.
