    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a polarizing laminate film or a polarizing film by coating a base film with a coating liquid containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin, in which an amount of the coating liquid including bubbles supplied from a coating machine (or a time period when the coating liquid including bubbles is supplied) can be minimized and a loss of the base film can be effectively decreased.SOLUTION: The production method of a polarizing laminate film includes: a coating liquid preparation step of supplying a coating liquid to a reservoir tank of a coating machine; a resin layer formation step of supplying the coating liquid through a coating head of the coating machine to one surface or both surfaces of a base film and coating the base film with the liquid to form a resin layer and to obtain a laminate film; a stretching step of stretching the laminate film to obtain a stretched film; and a dyeing step of dyeing the resin layer of the stretched film with a dichroic dye to obtain a polarizing laminate film. The coating liquid preparation step and/or the resin layer formation step include a step of extracting a part of the coating liquid in the coating machine between the reservoir tank and the coating head. The production method of a polarizing plate is carried out by using the polarizing laminate film obtained by the above method.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing film giving a polarizer excellent in durability against heat cycle test and allowing the orthogonal hue to be neutral gray; a manufacturing method thereof; and a polarizer with a protective layer formed on the polarizing film.SOLUTION: Provided are: a polarizing film where an iodine is adsorbed and oriented to a polyvinyl alcohol resin (PVA) film, the boron content is within the range of 1 to 3.5 wt.%, and when cut into 2 mm×10 mm with an absorption axis as the long side and heated at 80°C for 4 hours, the shrinkage force in the absorption axis direction is 2.8 N or less and the b value of the orthogonal hue is within the range of -2.2 to + 0.5; and a polarizer with a protective layer formed thereto. This polarizing film can be manufactured by the method where a PVA film is subjected to iodine dyeing, boric acid treatment, and washing in this order and uniaxial stretching is performed in the step of boric acid treatment or in a previous step, and the film is subjected to primary drying to dry between the above boric acid treatment and washing.
