    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work centering method and a device therefor, which sets a workpiece quickly and accurately centers it in a magnetic chuck mounted on a spindle. SOLUTION: The work centering device makes centering of the workpiece 9 by abutting thereto working parts 13 provided in two places, the workpiece being sucked fast to the magnetic chuck mounted on the spindle to be driven into rotation. The working parts 13 are supported by a supporting plate 11 rotatable round one fulcrum O, and when the fulcrum O of the supporting plate 11 moves toward the rotational center OG of the magnetic chuck, the parts 13 abut on the workpiece 9 and correct the dislocation of the workpiece 9 while they swing in compliance with the workpiece 9 positioned eccentrically, and the center OW of the workpiece 9 is put in alignment with the rotational center OG of the magnetic chuck.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply and compress a force or to cut a material by using a magnetic force with a handle of a roller comprising a magnet.SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a handle 12, shafts 14 and 16, a magnet 18 and a roller 20. The handle 12 includes holes 26 and 28. The shaft 16 includes a hub 40 and a rod 42. The rod 42 has a circular cross section. The rod 42 is fitted into the hole 28 of the handle 12, penetrates the hub 40 to a hole 44 in the axial direction and holds the hub 40 at a position opposed to a hub 34 and in a suitable location within a U-shaped opening of the handle 12. The roller 20 is formed cylindrical, and a circular cavity 46 is widened between confronted ends 48 and 50 of the roller 20. The magnet 18 is fitted into the circular cavity 46 of the roller 20 in a center part 52 of the cavity 46 between the confronted ends 48 and 50 of the roller 20 and between the confronted hubs 34 and 40 of the shafts 14 and 16.
