    • PURPOSE:To reduce manpower required for formation of edge and regrinding by splitting the central angle at the lower end of cutter body into three then arranging three cutters at respective splitted section while gradually lowering the height from the initial stage cutter toward the rear stage cutter. CONSTITUTION:Three types of cutter or an inner cutter 13, an intermediate cutter 15 and an outer cutter 17 are formed sequentially in every 1/3 section of the entire circumference of cutter section 11. The lower endface of a set of cutter section 11 is on a convex surface making contact angle of 2-5 deg. against the horizontal face while rising from the inner cutter 13 toward the outer cutter 17. In other word, the side flank of the cutters 13, 15, 17 is an outercircum ferential locus of grinding wheel or a convex face. Consequently, plural cutter lower faces are grinded through single pass resulting in reduction of manpower.

    • PURPOSE:To improve cutting efficiency and make regrinding easier by alternately placing the first cutting edges and the second cutting edges as cutting edges. CONSTITUTION:As for cutting edges, the first cutting edges 23 and the second cutting edges 24 are alternately placed. Nearly the same clearance angles and cutting-edge angles are formed on the flanks of both the first cutting edges 23 and the second cutting edges 24. Several cutting edges are provided on the first cutting edge 23 by forming its front face into steps. With the direction of each flank 37, 38 of the cutting edges 23, 24 being made the same, the regrinding of the cutting edges is extremely easier, while the cutting efficiency is improved due to the construction as mentioned above.

    • PURPOSE:To provide possibility of boring two or more metal sheets continuously by furnishing a pluaity of splash exhaust grooves at the periphery of a cylindrical member for boring, by recessing a cutting edge piece at the bottom corner of cutter body formed between each pair of adjoining exhaust grooves, and by forming the cutting edge piece from a specific outer and inner edges. CONSTITUTION:Splash exhaust grooves 4 are cut at the periphery of the lower circumferential wall 1b of a cylindrical member 1 for boring at a constant spacing to form a cutter body 5 between each pair of adjoining exhaust grooves 4. The bottom surface of each cutter body 5 is protruded down in the rotational direction, and a cutting edge piece 6 is recessed at the bottom corner as in contact with the front edge of the cutter body 5. Each cutting edge piece 6 is forme from an inner 6a and outer 6b edges alternately, wherein the inner edge 6a shall be a downward facing angle edge having an edge width corresponding to approx. half the thickness of cutting edge piece 6 situated nearer the inside of bottom surface of the cutting edge piece 6, while the outer edge 6b a downward facing slant edge having an edge width corresponding to approx. half the thickness of the cutting edge piece 6 situated nearer the outside of the bottom surface of the cutting edge piece 6. The bottom surface of this cutting edge piece 6 is cut so that the inner 6a and outer 6b edges both protrude downward.
