    • A cell suspension preparation method comprises dilution of a concentrated cell fraction, after discharge from a centrifugal separation unit, with a physiological solution. An Independent claim is also included for the corresponding apparatus, comprising a centrifuge (1) which includes a separation unit (2) with an annular channel and which has connections for a suspension supply line (5), a concentrated cell fraction discharge line (9) and a residual suspension component discharge line (13), a dilution unit (22) being provided for diluting the cell fraction delivered by the concentrated cell fraction discharge line (9). PREFERRED FEATURES:- The cells are concentrated to a hematocrit value of 60-98. The physiological solution is a Ringer solution. The dilution unit (22) comprises a diluent container (15) with a feed line (16), including a feed pump (17), connected to the concentrated cell fraction discharge line (9). The concentrated cell fraction discharge line (9) includes a concentrate pump (11) which withdraws the cell fraction from the separation unit (2) and which is located downstream of the feed line (16) connection point (23). The dilution unit has a control unit (19) for adjusting the feed rate of the diluent feed pump (17).
