    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe pole that dispenses with welding of a reinforcing member for an opening provided on an outer periphery of a lower portion of a steel pipe column and that is excellent in beauty because the reinforcing member is not protruded on the outer periphery of the steel pipe column, and a method for manufacturing the steel pipe pole.SOLUTION: A steel pipe pole comprises a lighting fixture for illuminating a road, and a steel pipe column for supporting the lighting fixture. The steel pipe pole is characterized as follows: an opening is provided on the outer periphery of the lower portion of the steel pipe column; and a reinforcing pipe made of a steel pipe fixed on the inside of the opening is provided. A method for manufacturing the steel pipe pole is characterized in that the steel pipe column and the reinforcing pipe are fixed by applying drawing to reduce an outside diameter of the steel pipe column, after inserting the reinforcing pipe into the steel pipe column and heating it.
