摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a protectant against termite, excellent in safety, stability, preventive effect, residual activity, etc., by including ethoxazole as an active principle. SOLUTION: This protectant against termites is prepared by including (pref. 0.01-90 wt.%, more pref. 0.025-20 wt.%) 5-tert-butyl-2-[2-(2,6-difluorophenyl)-4,5- dihydroxazol-4-yl]phenetol (its common name: ethoxazole) in preparations. The formulation is pref. oil solution, emulsion, or the like. The protectant can be applied to soil or the habitat of termites and can also be applied to the neighborhood of woody objects (e.g. trees, walls, stakes, or the like), buildings (e.g. houses), etc., or soil under the floor to protect them. Further the protectant can be applied to woody products (e.g. plywood, sawed products, or the like) and resin products (e.g. plastic sheet or the like). The application rate is pref. ca. 0.075-12.5 g/m2 in terms of the quantity of an active principle.

PREPARATION:A substituted benzoic acid shown by formula II is subjected to a reaction with an aminoalcohol derivative shown by formula Ill or formula IV in the presence of a dehydrating agent (e.g. sulfuric acid) in a solvent such as benzene at 70 deg.C to the boiling point of the solvent to give a compound shown by formula I.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain an insecticldal and acaricidal agent showing powerful insecticidal and acaricidal activity in an extremely low concentration and exhibiting excellent effects on resistant harmful insect pests, comprising a specific 2,4- diphenyl-2-oxazoline compound as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:This insecticidal and acaricidal agent comprises a 2,4-diphenyl-2- oxazoline compound of formula I (R is fluorine, chlorine, a 1-3C alkyl or a 1-3C alkoxy; R is fluorine or chlorine) as an active ingredient and is effective for controlling insects and acarids living in plants. The insecticidal and acaricidal agent has low toxicity to warm-blooded animals and is greatly safe. The compound of formula I, for example, is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III to give an amidoethanol of formula IV as an intermediate, then reacting the compound with a thionyl halide of the formula SOY2 (Y is a halogen) and treating the prepared amidoethyl halide derivative of formula V as an intermediate with a base to subject the derivative to ring formation.
