    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide solid inks that retain the advantages of handling, safety, and print quality, but provide additional breakthrough performance characteristics such as enhanced curing and robustness, lower jetting temperature, and ultra-low shrinkage upon crystallization, and which allow the inks to be used as novel materials in inkjet-based print applications.SOLUTION: The curable solid ink comprises: a curable wax; one or more monomers; an optional colorant; an amide gellant; and a photoinitiator. The curable solid inks and low shrinkage curable solid inks are solid at room temperature but are molten at an elevated temperature at which the molten ink is applied to a substrate.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a phase change ink composition whose pigment particle is stable and uniformly disperses in an ink compound, and to provide a producing method of the ink composition.
      SOLUTION: The phase change ink composition comprises an ink carrier containing a monoamide and a tetraamide, and a pigment particle having an oxygen-containing functional group on the surface thereof. The producing method for the phase change ink composition comprises steps of: melting the tetraamide which is a solid at about 25°C, mixing the molten tetraamide with the pigment particle having the oxygen-containing functional group on the surface thereof, maintaining the mixture at a temperature of about 100 to about 200°C for a period sufficient to enable the molten tetraamide to wet the surface of the pigment particle, and after wetting the pigment particle surface with the molten tetraamide, adding the monoamide to the mixture, after that, high shear mixing the resulting mixture, and subsequently to subject the mixture to the high shear mixing, according to demand, adding to the mixture an additional ink ingredient.
