    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin composition containing a layered silicate highly dispersed in the composition in nano-meter order and having excellent mechanical strength and barrier property.
      SOLUTION: The polyester composition contains (a) a thermoplastic polyester copolymer copolymerized with a monomer having a sulfonic acid group in an amount of 0.1-8 mol% based on total monomer component and (b) a layered silicate, wherein the content of the component (b) is 0.1-30 mass% based on the polyester resin composition. The invention further provides a method for the production of the polyester resin composition comprising the melt-kneading of a thermoplastic polyester copolymer and a layered silicate at ≤250°C.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable resin composition having a practically sufficient appearance, excellent heat resistance and durability and further having wet heat resistance, to provide a molded product obtained from the composition and to provide a method for producing the biodegradable resin composition.
      SOLUTION: The biodegradable resin composition is characterized as comprising 100 pts.mass of a biodegradable polyester resin containing ≥50 mass% of polylactic acid, 0.1-5 pts.mass of a carbodiimide compound and 0.01-5 pts.mass of a phosphitic organic compound. The biodegradable resin composition is characterized in that the strength retention is ≥80% when kept under conditions of 80°C and 90% relative humidity for 200 h.
