    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery including a safety valve having a stabilized valve opening pressure and ensuring high sealing performance.SOLUTION: The battery includes a safety valve which discharges a portion of gas in the battery when the internal pressure of the battery increases. The safety valve further includes a valve member having a discharge hole interconnecting the inside and outside of the battery, and an elastic member disposed at a position of the valve member on the outside of the battery so as to be pressed toward the valve member and to cover the discharge hole. At a sealing part where the valve member and the elastic member come into contact with each other, an annular inner sealing part surrounding the discharge hole, and an annular outer sealing part surrounding the inner sealing part are formed. The contact surface pressure at the inner sealing part is higher than that at the outer sealing part, and the contact sealing length at the outer sealing part is longer than that at the inner sealing part.
