    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching valve with a detent mechanism reducing costs and satisfactorily self-sustaining a valve element for a long period of time by improving wear resistance.SOLUTION: A detent mechanism is configured such that a clamp member 16 obtained by bending and forming a wire rod is provided at a valve body 1 in a manner immovable in an axial direction, two annular grooves 20, 21 to each of which the clamp member 16 is locked by its resilient force at one switching position and the other switching position are formed on a valve element 2 and spaced apart in an axial direction, and the valve element 2 is self-sustained at the one switching position and the other switching position by the clamp member 16 and the two annular grooves 20, 21. Carbonitriding treatment in applied to the valve element 2, electroless nickel plating is applied to the clamp member 16, and heat treatment is further applied to the clamp member 16.
