    • PURPOSE:To make compact a construction for the electric connection of a steering wheel, by mounting plural electroconductive members on arc-shaped support surfaces at the column and pad sides of a boss plate fitted on a steering shaft and by electrically coupling the electroconductive members of both kinds to each other through plural electric connectors provided in the boss plate. CONSTITUTION:A support disc 2 made of an insulating material is attached to the end of a steering column 1 by screws 3. A steering shaft 4 is rotatably supported at the upper end by a bearing 5 provided in the center of the support disc 2. A boss plate 8, on which a steering wheel is mounted at spokes 10, is clamped on the end of the steering shaft 4 by a nut 9. A support disc 12 made of an insulating material is mounted with a bearing 11 on the central protruded part 8a of the plate 8. Plural electroconductive plates 7, 14 are secured on the peripheral arc-shaped support surfaces 6, 13 of the support discs 2, 12 and electrically coupled to each other through plural electroconductive rollers 15 supported by bearings 16 in the peripheral part of the boss plate 8.

In this arrangement, in case of detaching the hooking portion of the urging member, a member such as a screw driver or the like is inserted in the gap from the back side of the hooking projection 8 to detach the hooling portion. Thus, the urging member can be easily detached to shorten the time required for maintenance.
