    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate film for polarizing plate release, which is excellent in contrast property and breakage resistance and has excellent optical axis accuracy and thermal dimensional stability.
      SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate film satisfies the following requirements (1)-(4): (1) a heat shrinkage percentage when heated at 150°C for 30 minutes is 2.0% or less in both longitudinal and width direction; (2) the difference between the heat shrinkage percentage in the longitudinal direction and that in the width direction when heated at 150°C for 30 minutes is 1.0% or less; (3) an MOR value measured by a microwave transmission type molecular orientation meter is 1.80 to 2.10; and (4) the variation of orientation angle in the film width direction is 3.0°-5.0° per 500 mm.
