    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin composition for an electrode for a nonaqueous secondary battery, the binder resin composition being excellent in adhesion to a collector and enabling the manufacture of a nonaqueous secondary battery that offers a high discharge capacity even under high-temperature environments.SOLUTION: The binder composition for an electrode for a nonaqueous secondary battery contains cross-linked resin particles. The cross-linked resin particles are obtained by emulsion polymerization of (A) at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of monomers having one ethylenic unsaturated group and a monofunctional or multifunctional alkoxysilyl group in one molecule, and monomers having two or more ethylenic unsaturated groups in one molecule, (B) an acidic group-containing ethylenic unsaturated monomer other than (A), and (C) another monomer having an ethylenic unsaturated group, including a monomer (c) having an ethylenic unsaturated group, in water in the presence of a surfactant with the aid of a radical polymerization initiator. The resin particles are neutralized with an alkali metal hydroxide and/or an alkali metal carbonate.
