    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply for lighting and a lighting device that allow continuously changing an output current by a dimmer.SOLUTION: There is provided a power supply for lighting that includes a rectifier circuit, a smoothing capacitor, a reference-voltage generating circuit, and a DC-DC converter. The rectifier circuit rectifies an inputted AC voltage. The smoothing capacitor smooths an output of the rectifier circuit. The reference-voltage generating circuit generates a reference voltage on the basis of at least one of an output voltage of the rectifier circuit and a voltage of the smoothing capacitor. The DC-DC converter has an output element and a constant-current element, and converts the voltage across the smoothing capacitor. The output element receives the voltage of the smoothing capacitor, performs switching operation repeating an on-state and an off-state to oscillate when the reference voltage is relatively high, and continues the on-state when the reference voltage is relatively low. The constant-current element is connected in series to the output element and causes a constant current controlled by the reference voltage to flow.
